Teachers don't impact for a year, but for a lifetime.
-Anonymous

Wishing all the teachers who've made a difference in all of us, a

Happy Teachers' Day!

P/S; Something wrong with Blogger again...

I won't go back.

Today's Teachers' Day, and everyone seemed to be excited to go back to their primary schools and see their old friends/teachers/school vendors/cleaners/whatever. So QZ, YF and I met at TP Central and had lunch at Gourmet Paradise. We were so happily walking into the school and when we saw Mdm Lam, we handed her the muffins that we made. So we wanted to find the teachers @ the G.O, but were unfortunately told by a person that the teachers are not in and told us to wait at the canteen until the teachers come at about 3. We sat down, saw some people, and chatted. Just as we were chatting and waiting for our teachers to come out, few people came and told all the ex-pupils to come another day.

Erm, excuse me, didn't you tell us to wait for the teachers at the canteen? (I didn't say that of course.)

I mean that's like so irresponsible, and it concerns so many people's time and efforts to come down? They could have just disallowed all ex-pupils to go in, or could have told us even before we settled down to wait. But they didn't. It's like going all so excited to see our teachers but in the end we were chased away without even having a glance at our teachers?

Rest assured, I'll never go back until this changes.

When fun is not fun...

To do things in the name of fun, is totally NOT fun. D:

Shouldn't we cherish our food?

It annoys me whenever I see people leaving so much food uneaten.

In your eyes, it might just be some leftover food that you don't feel like eating anymore, but in another person's eyes, it might be the food that can help him survive.

Have you ever thought that there are about 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition? All we care about is good food, delicacies. If the food isn't to our liking, we throw it away. But do you even know that there are people who survive on your leftover food? Yes, you don't see them in Singapore, but what about the forgotten parts of the world?

Here's a video I want to share. You might have watched it on the Andss Portal forum, but nevertheless, I think you'll definitely change your opinion about the food in your plate.

Chicken a la Carte

We, being people with good food to eat, gets picky sometimes. Yet people living at the corner of the Earth, are grateful for they have at least something to eat. We never know how fortunate we are, until we see people who are much more unfortunate, but are grateful for what they have. We tell our parents, "I don't want to eat that, not nice to eat!", but have the kids got a choice to choose? We do, and they don't, but we never seem to be more grateful than them.

So let's tell ourselves that we are a fortunate bunch of people, and be grateful for what we eat.
(This was what I replied on the forum thread.)

Girls, finish up your food alright? :)

Hiccups Frenzy

I've never believed that hiccups are contagious (in actual fact, it isn't). But somehow rather, Santhini, Amelia and I are all hiccuping today. Maybe it's something we ate, but hey, hiccups are not caused by food, so what's wrong?! Some hiccup germs?

In the morning it was me who was hiccuping, then when we went to lunch, Santhini was the one. Then after that Amelia also told us that she's having hiccups too.

And for goodness sake, I'm hiccupping when I'm typing this! :P

Shall try holding my breath for 30 seconds, if it doesn't work I shall drinking 7 gulps of water. Or maybe try the plastic bag one (Hi-5 said it).

P/S: I know this post is kind of lame because it's about hiccups and nothing contructive or educational. Too bad, because I've got the energy to type, but no stuff to right. Wait till I have both the stuff to write and the energy to type. :D

Sing to the Dawn

This post is just to remind myself of what I did in this performance when I do look back in the archives. :P

Sing to the Dawn - Sec 1 CA2 Assessment, 21 Aug 09
Improvements to be made

1. As a group

  • Music should be prepared earlier instead of doing last minute work.
  • Sound should have been checked properly - there were technical errors.
  • Props to be done better - Bao didn't smash any bird cages, and the bird didn't fly, they were thrown and it looked stupid.
  • Clogs were bought but not used - waste of resources.
2. As Dawan

  • Emotions should have been expressed more thoroughly.
  • The part where Bao tells me to hide was a bit off-character cause I appeared as if I was waiting for her line. - By Meiyu
  • Didn't fall such that audience could see the 'blood'.

Okay, I think that's all. You can tell me your feedback also. :D

我有我的美,你有你的美
可是我的美,比你的美美
所以你在嫉妒我的美。

This is a random thing that MY and me thought of. Total random-ness.
That last line actually came from Paris & Milan. :P Try reading that super fast and you'll realise it sounds weird.

Accident-prone.

Yesterday

So yesterday there was the PSG food fair in school. And after school, I bought a packet of fried rice (which honestly speaking was not very nice to me) with two chicken wings (which wasn't very nice either). While walking to the taps near the bookshop, I accidentally knock onto one of the chair of a round table, and so I tried to prevent myself from losing my balance by stepping forward, but I ended up slipping on the not-so-slippery floor and my knee banged on the floor with a loud thud.

*Pok*

Am I dumb or dumb?

And now there's the big patch of blue-black on my right knee.
(I'll upload a pic of it when I find that adapter.)

Today

*Laughs*
Have you guys noticed my newly-decorated locker door with Idol's magazine pics?

I bet you did. If you didn't, your eyes must have been covered with stamps (眼睛tak stamp), because such a big name of Idol and such pretty pics were stuck on my locker door. So now, everytime I open my locker, I get to see Idol's face, which will somehow motivate me to study.

Music and Me

Just came home from a 'music class' in school.

Stayed back with Jasmlne, Amelia and Santhini to talk about guitar and also to sing (!!!). Halfway while singing with the girls, Claudia (a senior) walked into our class and told us she heard guitar sounds so she came in. Then she told us that a teacher was playing his guitar at 1/4's classroom. So we quickly flew next door and saw Mr Eu playing his guitar.

So erm, the two person started talking about bands, guitar, songs...

The talking part isn't important, the part that is important is that I totally changed my impression of the teacher, and my perspective on music (and guitar).

Because we didn't know the teacher, my first impression of him was just a muscular NCC teacher with a very weird hairdo (no offence). But when I saw him playing the guitar w/ Jasmlne, I saw a different person. It was a teacher who knew music.

I could see in their eyes,
the burning passion for music.

Guitar Lessons

Ms Lau will be conducting guitar lessons at very cheap price, proceeds going to the needy pupils fund. I want to go but I don't know where to borrow a classical guitar. Exactly the problem. Confirmation by tomorrow, and I have to make sure that I can borrow one before I confirm.

Mum's definitely not going to buy one for me. But I'm also aware that I have very divided interests, not a good point though. I wanted to do knitting, cross-stitch, photo-taking, drama, singing (!), chinese orchestra, guitar, piano etc. And I've never achieved anything much. My knitting's halfway done, and so the conclusion to this is that, I should focus on one.

I'm always searching for one, one which I have the talent in, one in which I will excel.
But is all this searching worth it?

I don't know.

[Edit]
My sis have successfully borrowed a guitar for me. :D Loves!

Lines.

Lines...

Long, short, curvy, straight, thick, thin etc.

Lines can be
an extended dot,
the perimeter of a shape,
the word that you are writing,
a distance,
a boundary.

In life, there are always boundaries made of a thin, fine line.
Stay in your territory, and you may be safe.
Step across the line, and the result may be disastrous.
It's just a line.
But it can make the biggest difference.

And because it is a thin, fine line,
there's no grey region.

Black on one side, white on the other, no grey.

But if you don't step across the line,
you'll never know how it's like on the other side.
But if you do,
you can't go back.

So will you stay, or will you step?

(Actually I don't know what message this post is trying to convey, but yea...)

A Glass of Milk a Day Keeps Me Growing Everyday

Just bought 2 litres worth of milk from NTUC. If I don't include a lot of calcium-rich food in my diet I'm not gonna grow tall, and that will be disastrous. I'll be drinking a glass of milk a day to keep me growing (upwards not sideways)! At the speed I'm drinking it, I think I'll be able to finish it within a few days. :D *Gulps*

People who knows me well enough will know why it will be disastrous if I don't grow taller. :P

Words of the Cyber World

Heard there was a case of slander involving a 1/5-ian, not sure who.

Sometimes, I think it's really important to think about what you write on your blog because it's going to reflect on yourself. Yes, it's your freedom to write whatever you want, your freedom to express yourself. But people might not look at it from your POV, so it's still advisable to post discreetly (<-I hope I'm using this correctly). Once something is posted, it's like something said. People hear it, people remember it, and so there'll be no turning back (unless you're gonna brainwash that person). "But hey, it's my blog. If you don't like it, scram!" Not going to your blog doesn't mean it does not exist you see. It will still be there and people will still be able to see what is in it. So conclusion? Think twice before you press that 'Publish' button. This post is not directed at anyone, whether or not, involved in the case.

Hi Earthlings!

Had the urge to move back to Blogger, so here I am.

No exact reason why, I just wanted a change.
